Rallies and Solidarity Span Honk & Wave
Watch this amazing and inspiring video of the successful No Kings Day Human Chain done on the Peninsula for No Kings Day in June, 2025.
Indivisible ReSisters Contra Costa, Commit to Democracy, League of Women Voters, Moms Demand Action, Democrats of Rossmoor, Indivisible Pleasant Hill and other partners, including you, will be doing the same action—a Solidarity Span Honk & Wave in Contra Costa County for No Kings Day 3 on Saturday, March 28, 2026, with Pre-Solidarity Span rallies to get you amped up.
Come out with friends and family for this peaceful demonstration to show that in the U.S., we have no kings, dictators, or despots. Let's reach the tipping point of resistance!
We’re holding kick-off rallies in Concord, near Sunvalley Blvd. at 10:30am, and Pleasant Hill City Hall at 11:30am. Choose the one convenient for you to take part in prior to the Solidarity Span Honk & Wave.
After the rallies, protestors will head to their Solidarity Span Honk & Wave spots starting at 12:30pm and continuing until 2pm. This is a new kind of action for us. We will form a human chain (without holding hands) from Sunvalley Shopping Center to Broadway Plaza. Picture a long, continuous, enthusiastic line of protestors all the way down Contra Costa Blvd. and Main Street.
Sign up for a spot along the span. Plan to bring friends, signs, lawn chairs, and a picnic lunch if you like—like setting up along a parade route! We will have a sound truck driving by to pump everyone up, along with the honking of passing cars. If you have a larger group, you can adopt a whole block and host a theme or any creative idea that’s safe and fun that you’d like to organize for your block.
Note: we will mostly need people to sign up for the stretches between Ygnacio Valley Rd. in Walnut Creek, to Boyd Rd. in Pleasant Hill, and from approximately Vivian Dr. in Pleasant Hill to Sunvalley Shopping Center.
